[English]

Background and Objectives: This study aimed to analyze the concept of non-learning in the process of understanding-based education from Wittgenstein’s point of view. Understanding is an epistemological state concerned with describing the relations between propositions. Rather than merely seeking belief in propositions and their correspondence with reality, the philosopher examines a range of factors involved in achieving understanding, including practical experience. In Wittgenstein’s view, understanding occurs all at once through engagement with a problem, following a series of stages. Methods: The research method was analytical specifically conceptual analysis. Findings: The findings showed that, in the process of teaching and learning, Wittgenstein believes that there is a language game that cannot be learned. Accordingly, learning is not the result of intentionality, nor does it encompass every means of acquiring information and beliefs. According to understanding-centered epistemology, emphasis is placed on the practical aspect of learning rather than on the term learning itself. The findings also indicated that the nature of propositions within systems of belief determines which matters could be learned. Conclusion: In this process, learners should focus more on observing than on asking why, as they come to understand the relationship between a word and its use not through explicit explanations, but through practice and experience. The goal of learning is not to refine or complete a system of rules governing words, but rather to resolve difficulties through practical use. Genuine discovery occurs when learners can move beyond philosophical speculation, especially when they consciously seek to do so. For learners, understanding emerges through continuous and careful observation.
