Background and Objectives: Teachers must acquire essential competencies in the digital age to play an effective role in society, enabling them to solve problems and overcome existing challenges. The purpose of the present study was to develop a model of competencies for elementary education student-teachers at Farhangian University in the digital technology era. Methods: In terms of purpose, this study was applied, and in terms of implementation, it employed a mixed-methods approach. The statistical population in the qualitative phase consisted of 30 experts and professors in the field of educational technology from Tehran. In the quantitative phase, the population included all specialists in educational technology and elementary school teachers from Tehran Province, specifically districts 16 and 19 in the southern regions. Sampling in the qualitative phase was conducted using the snowball method, involving 30 educational personnel, while in the quantitative phase, systematic sampling was used to select 204 individuals as the research sample. The research instruments in the qualitative phase included semi-structured interviews, and in the quantitative phase, a researcher-made questionnaire derived from the interviews, containing 119 items, was utilized. Findings: The results indicated that educational criteria, knowledge criteria, psychological criteria, value and attitudinal criteria, skill criteria, and socio-cultural criteria are the main components of the competency model for elementary education student-teachers at Farhangian University in the digital age. Conclusions: The findings suggest that achieving effective education requires revising selection processes, curriculum programs, and maintaining ongoing communication with Farhangian University graduates to cultivate capable teachers as educational leaders.
