Background and purpose: The internship program is very important in teacher training; because it ensures the professional preparation of future teachers. The present research was conducted with the aim of designing and validating a conceptual model for the internship program for the professional development of student teachers at Farhangian University. Method: This research is a qualitative and meta-synthesic study. The research community in the meta-synthesis stage included documents related to the research topic between 2010 and 2024 (N=2852), from among which 43 documents were examined based in the final synthesis using the theme analysis method. In order to validate the designed model, semi-structured interviews were conducted with 17 university professors and experts. Findings: According to the research findings, the most important components and sub-components of the internship program for the professional development of the student teachers at Farhangian University are: leadership/management skills (classroom leadership skills, knowledge-based management skills, and monitoring and evaluation management skills), knowledge skills (knowledge management skills, pedagogical skills, and scientific entrepreneurship), research skills (action research skills, lesson study skills, narrative research skills, and future research skills), soft skills (professional ethics skills, communication skills, and resilience skills), and individual skills (self-development skills, professional independence skills, digital literacy skills, and networking skills). Conclusion: The five main components and seventeen sub-components resulting from this research can be an effective model for designing a professional development internship program for student teachers at Farhangian University and help them become better prepared for the teaching profession.
