Background and Objectives: Within the framework of human resource management in education and in order to compensate for the shortage of elementary school teachers, the "3+1" plan was approved at Farhangian University, according to which student teachers, after completing the first three years of undergraduate studies, work as teachers in schools in the fourth year while continuing their studies. The present study was conducted with the aim of investigating the experiences of the aforementioned student teachers and their professors from this plan. Methods: The research was qualitative and phenomenological. The population was all incoming students majoring at elementary education at Farhangian University of South Khorasan in 2019 and their professors in the academic year 2022-2023. The participants included 7 professors and 10 students selected based on purposive sampling. The Colizzi method (2002) and Maxqda-11 were used to analyze the data. Findings: The findings were divided into three general themes of challenges, opportunities, and solutions. Challenges consisted of four themes: academic, individual, career, and organizational, opportunities consisted of two themes: individual and career, and solutions consisted of three sub-themes: organizational, individual, and academic. It seems that despite all the undeniable advantages and benefits, the challenges and limitations, for various reasons, outweighed its opportunities. Conclusion: based on the findings of this study, it is recommended that the administrators of Farhangian University make an effort to examine the dimensions of this plan thoroughly and in more details. It is especially important and to use the perspectives and experiences of professors and especially the aforementioned students in this direction.
