Behavioral disengagement of students in classroom is one of the important concerns of all teachers. The present study explores the strategies used by teachers to deal with students' disengagement. For this purpose, 109 high school teachers from different cities in the west of Mazandaran participated in this research. In order to collect information, participants' written responses to 16 hypothetical situations were used. The data were analyzed using the content analysis method with an inductive approach. After initial coding, and extracting strategies, eight general categories of strategies were identified. In this regard, the qualitative answers were also converted into quantitative data, so that the possibility of quantitative counting and comparison of the use of strategies was also provided. The data were analyzed Stahnke and Blomeke’s (2021) model using MAXQDA 2022 software. The findings showed that teachers use the three categories of educational procedure management strategies, encouraging and emphasizing strengths, and imposing engagement more than other strategies. In addition, the comparison between the teachers' preferred strategies according to their years of teaching experience demonstrated that while there were tangible commonalities, with the increase of teachers' experience, significant changes were observed in the way they deal with students' behavioral disengagement. Based on the findings, teachers are advised to use indirect strategies that often require more time and patience by taking advantage of the experiences of their senior colleagues.
