The Relationship of Professional Ethics with the Organizational Culture of Employees in the Education of Hamadan City

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between professional ethics and employee organizational culture in Hamedan city. The research is applied in terms of purpose and in terms of descriptive survey method, it is a correlation type. To this end, 110 employees of the General Directorate of Education in Hamedan were selected as the statistical sample. Data were gathered using two questionnaires of the organizational culture constructed based on Robbins model and professional ethics based on Islamic ethics model. The average of members' perceptions about organizational culture based on gender, employment status and service record was not meaningful, but this difference was significant in terms of field of study (p=0.046). The average members' opinion about professional ethics was not meaningful in terms of any of the demographic indicators. The average component of organizational culture (4.20) and professional ethics (4.22) was higher than average. The average components of organizational culture of Hamadan General Education Department and the components of professional ethics of employees were higher than average. The highest mean of organizational culture was related to the stability component with the mean (4.28) and in the professional ethics related to the components of justice and lending with the average (4.27). The results also showed that preserving human dignity alone would predict 28 percent and justice of 6 percent of the organizational culture variable.
