Identifying and Ranking the Factors Affecting on Education and Improvement of High School Teachers in Bojnourd Province Using the Hierarchical Analysis Technique (AHP)

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to identify the factors affecting on education and improvement of high school teachers in Bojnourd province. The research method is applied in terms of purpose and descriptive-survey in terms of data collection method. The statistical population of the study consisted of high school teachers (N=800) who were selected based on cluster sampling method. Based on the Cochran method 259 teachers were selected as the sample of the study.  The data collection instrument was a questionnaire whose reliability was confirmed using an inconsistency rate of IR=0.03, which was less than 0.1. To analyze data, the AHP and Expert Choice and Excel software were used. Among the different criteria, 4 main criteria and 16 sub criteria were identified for ranking of factors affecting the education and improvement of high school teachers. According to the experts' answers and the results of the hierarchical analysis, the first priority is professional improvement with a weight of .488, the second priority is organizational improvement with a weight of .229, the third priority is educational improvement with a weight of .171 and the fourth priority is individual improvement with a weight of .148.
