Investigating the Role of Curriculum Literacy in Professional Development through the mediating Role of Professional Learning Communities of Primary School Teachers in Khaf City

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to investigate the role of curriculum literacy in professional development through the mediating role of professional learning communities of primary school teachers in Khaf. The research method was correlational and structural equation modelling. The statistical population of this study included all primary school teachers in Khaf city in the academic year of 1399-1400, including 788 people (416 males and 372 females). Among them and according to Cochran's formula, 258 teachers were selected via stratified random sampling as the sample group (105 males and 153 females). After explaining the purpose of the research and its benefits to the sample group, the participants took the Teacher Professional Development Questionnaire (Ayoubi, 2014), Curriculum Literacy (Ababaf, 2013), and Professional Learning Communities (Oliver et al., 209). Data were analyzed using structural equation tests and Confirmatory factor analysis using SPSS-23 and AMOS-9 softwares. The results showed that there was a significant relationship between curriculum literacy and learning professional communities, learning professional communities and professional development, curriculum literacy and professional development, and curriculum literacy and professional development and the mediating role of professional learning communities.
